The expressed purpose of the event, Facing the Challenges: Research on Shale Gas Extraction Symposium, is to provide an opportunity for researchers to present their work in a public forum and generate a peer-reviewed proceedings. The symposium is free and open to the public, but registration is required in order to save a seat.
